Belemnite Fossils
Belemnites are the Official Delaware State Fossil!
I found these on a fossil dig in Delaware City in 2024 and I wanted to share them with you all!
Belemnites are extinct, squid-like marine animals, from the Jurassic and Cretaceous Periods, 66 to 200 million years ago!
These creatures possessed a hard, bullet-shaped internal skeleton, which is what you see here.
Belemnites take their name from the Greek word, belemnon, meaning dart or javelin. In mythology, these fossils were thought to be “thunderbolts” that fell from the sky during storms.
Spiritually, Belemnites have an ancient energy and are a powerful grounding element that encourages inner strength, patience and emotional clarity.
Each fossil will come in a little glass bottle with a removable cork and will make a very special keepsake.
